Happy Birthday to me!!!

Today is my 36th birthday! I woke up this morning and thought, "I'm 36! Wow!! That sounds so old!" It does. I don't know why it sounds old, because I don't feel old. I feel very young, and that's what counts, right?

So, this morning I went to the gym and had an awesome workout! I lost 12 pounds with P90x and now my body is in pretty good shape. I'm fitting into all of my clothes and my jeans are a little bit baggy. I think I look great :) The most important thing is that I feel great, confident and like the way I look.

After my great workout, I went to my favorite bakery in Las Vegas, Freed's and bought three slices of cake. Then, if three slices of cake wasn't enough for my birthday, I bought two more cakes from Nothin' Bundt Cakes. I recently tasted one of their cakes and was impressed, so I thought, "Why not? It's MY birthday!" Later today I will go to my favorite Greek restaurant and eat Greek Fries and then this evening have dinner with my friend Julie. Thanks Julie!!

I have some goals that I want to accomplish in my 36th year of life. I want to pay off all my credit card debt. I know I can do this, so it's time I did this. I want to take some dance classes, like Jazz and Hip-Hop, which will be a blast! I also just want to make myself a better person. This is going to be a great year! I can feel it!

I went this past weekend to Utah to visit my family. My brother, Todd, threw me a birthday party. All of my siblings were there! I can't remember the last time we got together for a birthday. I don't know if we ever have as adults. It was very nice to reunite and I am grateful to Todd for everything. I am very blessed!

My plans for the rest of the day? I will watch some chick flicks, eat cake, eat Greek Fries, and eat dinner with Julie! Sounds like a great birthday to me!

Sitting at home for a month

Well, it's been a freaking long time since I've updated my blog. May? Well, this is a short update.

Zach was here for the summer and we had a great time. I moved into a townhouse in July that I really like. I worked my butt off during the month of August and in September I had surgery on my hand.

?
So, I've been off of work since Sept. 16th. I had a small mass on the palm of my right hand, and had the mass removed. My surgeon was great! I woke up from surgery in the recovery room singing A Day in the Life by The Beatles. So, I asked my surgeon on a follow-up appointment if he was playing The Beatles in the Operating Room and he told me that he was! Crazy, huh?

Speaking of The Beatles, I went to see Cirque de Soleil's LOVE! It was amazing! I fell in love with The Beatles and just plunked down $180 on the new remastered stereo boxed set that came out on 09/09/09. Number 9, get it? I love the music. It sounds so crisp and clear. It was definitely a great buy. I now have the entire Beatles catalog. I think I got 17 CDs in the boxed set. I also was able to go see Sgt. Pepper Live with Cheap Trick. That was a real treat!

I also went to see Pet Shop Boys in concert with my friend, Dann. It was great, even though I only knew about five songs, it was very entertaining.

I went the weekend before last and saw Zach in Colorado Springs and was able to go to one of his football games. He looked great in his new band uniform, and I froze my butt off!

Last weekend I went to Utah to see my nephew, Luke, get baptized. He was so amazing the next day when he gave his testimony. He didn't give a cookie cutter testimony. It was straight from the heart. I had tears!

So, I go back to work this week on Thursday. I am looking forward to it. I hope my finger doesn't hurt too badly. It is swollen and has been since the surgery. I hope that one day it won't be double the size of my left index finger.

Famous People Love Me!

Wow!! It’s been a long time since I updated my blog, so I decided to update it today. Lucky you! I haven’t really been doing anything but working, so I have decided to tell you a little about the people I have met recently on board my plane.

Super hottie Brad Womack was a passenger of mine. I didn’t know who he was until one of his buddies pointed out who he was. He was on The Bachelor Season 11. He was the only Bachelor in history to choose not to get engaged on the show. He is very cute and this picture doesn’t do him justice.
Interesting side story: I was puked on by a passenger the day this photo was taken. I am sure Brad thought I was THE ONE for him, but really couldn’t get past the lingering odor of vomit on me. Man! I always miss out!

I also met Don “Hollywood” Yates, better known as Wolf from American Gladiators. He was ultra cute and super built! Wow! He was very flirtatious too! He tried to hide the fact he was still talking on his cell phone while we were pushing back. He was trying to hide the phone with his hair. Good try, but didn’t fool me! He was a very nice guy. Very handsome too!

For those of my followers that truly know me and what a huge American Idol junkie I am, I met Bucky Covington too! He slept the entire one hour flight, but was nice enough to snap a photo with me.

Umm….just to rub it in that I have the best job in the world, I had a really nice Jacuzzi in my Reno hotel room. I did happen to take a couple of pics of it too. Calm down! I didn’t take a picture of me in the Jacuzzi. If I ever get that room again I swear I will post a photo of me in the tub!

Oh yeah, I have an offer on a house that was accepted. It’s a short sale so I am just waiting to see if the bank will accept my offer. It might take a long time. The house is beautiful. It is 1698 Sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 ½ baths, and one car garage. Best part is the kitchen. It has granite countertops and cherry cabinets all the way to the ceiling! I hope I get this one!

House Hunting!

I am looking for a house to buy. I am a first-time home buyer and am quite nervous. Today I looked at a house that I am really interested in. It is 1284 sq ft and has 2 master bedrooms and 2 1/2 bath. I love the yard and I am liking it more and more every time I see this video.

I am pretty nervous about buying, but it is a wonderful time to get a great deal on a property. This one is listed for $99,900.

I've been to cold places!

Well, not much is new with me. I have been working a lot and will be working a lot in March as well. I did go and visit a good friend of mine last weekend and had a nice relaxing time. It was a nice break from working so much. I did freeze my tooshie off, but had a very nice walk in the snow ;)

I recently had an overnight in Buffalo too. It was very interesting. I had a great room. It was so great that I had to take a video. Check it out. I was a little excited and it shows in the video. !!

I am still on track with the Dave Ramsey plan and have completed Snowball Step number one and am excited to start the next step.

This month I am on reserve at work, which basically is another name for "on-call." So, I don't know where I will end up from day-to-day which will really be an adventure! Stay tuned...

Six Months

Six months is half a year. This is a fact. When I graduated from Flight Attendant training for Southwest Airlines I was on a six-month probationary period. Basically it was my trial period to make sure Southwest wanted me as a Flight Attendant. Within the probationary period, I could be terminated without Union representation. Most people are on their very best behavior during this period, but I was just enjoying my new job. I figured that as long as I showed up on time for work, performed my job, and didn’t cause any safety violations, I would pass. Well…..I PASSED!!!!! I am no longer on probation!!! I also received a small raise :) I still LOVE my job and am very pleased I made the decision to change departments. I work less, make a little less than I used to, but I will make that up quickly and make more eventually. I also really enjoy the people I meet and the great crews that I fly with.

The past six months has passed very quickly, for which I am grateful for. I finished training on August 15th, 2008 and graduated at the top of my class. I really enjoyed the training. I wasn’t looking forward to going home however. My marriage was crumbling around me and I knew that I had a challenge when I returned home. I was hoping that my then husband would want to work on things, but shortly after I returned home I was asked to move out.

So, I moved out and have been putting my life back together ever since. I’ve made it six months!!! This is something to celebrate! A lot of tears have been shed. I lost loved ones, made some wonderful life-long friends, and worked a lot.

I attended part of a LDS Single’s Conference this weekend. I was able to attend the Temple session on Friday. It was amazing the amount of people who showed up for the session. The Temple staff was joyfully overwhelmed. We filled up four sessions! The session I was able to get in to had 13 men and 53 women. That is basically a 4:1 women/men ratio. I also attended the dance that evening which was fun. Later that was an after-party at one of the member’s home. It was a normal party minus alcohol. There was an awesome DJ and Rebecca and I danced until 4am. I really felt my age the next day when some of my toes were numb.

I also received some very good news!! My son, Zach, is going to be moving to Colorado Springs! That is only two hours away by plane! He can come see me for weekends and I can go see him! I am extremely excited!!!

So, I am saying good-bye to the past six months and look to the future six months with open arms and will embrace all the many adventures that will be coming my way!!

Ski Bum

I went skiing Saturday. It was a blast! It had been five years since I had skied. It had been far too long. I only wiped out twice. I was trying to cross a black diamond to get to a blue run and was going way too fast! I couldn’t get up. Rebecca made fun of me later because it took me a couple of minutes to get up. We had a great time! We went to Brian Head Resort to ski. It was beautiful. It is by Bryce Canyon and I could see part of that canyon from the top of the mountain. I want to go back and take my son, Zach. He would love to learn how to snowboard.

I am working a lot and I am in Buffalo, New York right now. I still LOVE my job!
