Happy Birthday To Me!

Yesterday was my 35th birthday! I had a great day and I am thankful for all of my friends and family who made my day special. I am truly blessed!

I am very happy to be saying goodbye to 34. It was a rough year. My sister passed away in August of tongue cancer and my mom passed away on Christmas Eve after a two-year battle with breast cancer. I also divorced.

The entire year wasn’t tragic. I became a flight attendant (a job that I LOVE!!!) and I made some great new friends. Some great things happened!

So, I am welcoming 35 with open arms! There are at least two things that I want to accomplish during this year. First, attend the temple more. Second, I am changing my financial outlook and accepting the challenge of a Total Money Makeover.

If anyone is familiar with Dave Ramsey, you will know what this is. For those of you, who are not familiar with him, check out his website, http://www.daveramsey.com, and perhaps you might want to accept this challenge as well. I listened to him on the radio one night and picked up his book, Total Money Makeover. I am still reading the book but I am very excited about the possibility and goal of being debt-free!!!!

I am excited to be able to attend the temple more. I want to visit at least four temples that I haven’t been to yet. I have been to the Las Vegas, NV Temple, St. George, UT Temple, and Salt Lake City, UT Temple. I definitely need to see and attend more temples. For those of my friends who want to know more about LDS Temples visit http://www.mormon.org .

These, plus many more, are new adventures that everyone can follow throughout the next year.

Vacation!!

I am on vacation right now! I wish I could say that I am in some wonderful tropic spot basking in the warm sun, but I am not. Aside from the weather, I am vacationing in a much better spot! I am spending my vacation time with my brother and his family in Ohio, where on Friday it was -1 as a high! Talk about cold! Now I kind of have some sympathy for my friend, Ben, in Minnesota.

I have been having a great time here. We haven’t gone outside much because I am a total wimp and I hate the cold. I have made donuts with the kids, played board games, won at Uno, lost at Uno, watched movies, and polished the girlies nails.

It is so much fun being here and spending time with the kids. Their personalities change so much as they grow. Seth, 3, is quite the little lovie boy. He loves his aunt and spends a lot of time giving me hugs and kisses.

Will, 5, is just at cute as ever, but he sure can get moody. Today he told me that I stink and my perfume was making him sick. I laughed.

Luke, 7, lost another tooth. That brings the total of missing teeth to four!

Meagan is having her 9th birthday tomorrow. Her birthday party theme is “A Day at the Spa.” So, I will be giving manicures to 6 little girls tomorrow.

Emma, 10, is getting very pretty and is working on making her roller coaster.

Abby, 12, is getting very tall! She isn’t as tall as I am yet, but she is getting there. She was given a Lego set for Christmas and has already made 5 different houses out of it. The houses are quite impressive and I think she should consider a career in Architecture.

Todd is working a lot finishing his fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry and Sara is getting the house ready to sell. They will be moving to Utah in June and then I will be able to see them more often. I am excited!

New Adventure!

After many years of reading other's blogs, I have finally started my own! Hopefully it will live up to the title.

There will be a lot more to come.....
